RP82 decanted 13:20. Cork almost whole: only a small fragment lost.

Bright red, 40% opaque. Lovely flavour, with an exotic fruit that I can't identify. Good length and sweetness. Showing well.

RP82, decanted 13:20. Red-red-purple, 95% opaque. Very soft sweet fruit. Very very sweet.

Decanted 5½ hours. 70% opacity, slightly cloudy dark red. Very full chocolate nose. Lovely soft chocolate and toffee in the mouth. Finish was quite tannic. I likely this a lot. Thought I preferred it to the 1983, but changed my mind on that later in the evening. Feels like this port could still develop in some way or other. Will be interesting to try again over the next decade.

Deep ruby, narrow pink rim. 60%. Lovely nose; fruity, with late marzipan. Very soft in the mouth, juicy mid palate with light bitterness and no structure; very soft indeed.

AHB: 60,000 bottles produced. Deep red, but slightly more evolved than the 1980; 90% opaque. Slightly baked fruit on the nose with a fresh earthiness to it. Later in the evening there is black coffee mixed in with the other scents. Restrained fruit with a nice dry tannin giving a coffee tone under the rich, sweet bramble fruit. A real, distinct coffee on the palate. Coffee and deep fruit on the aftertaste with a wonderful bramble carrying right through the long aftertaste. 89/100. Drunk 21-Oct-14. Decanted 7 hours.
