RP94 decanted 10:05. Cork slightly dry but extracted whole. Like the RPE94, printed Ramos-Pinto 1994, with hyphen.

Bright red, 30% opaque. Faint nose, a little leather. Palate slightly dry, good length, good structure.

RP94, decanted 10:05. Dark red, 80% opaque. My first glass was dirty, and I failed to note the contents of the second glass.

RP94 is about 40% Quinta do Bom Retiro and 60% Quinta de Ervamoira.

75% opacity, dark red. Lively, fresh, strawberry nose. Fruit in the mouth, full, tannic finish, but smooth. Not a shabby port in any way.

I've had this a few times from Berry Brothers Port Walks or by buying the occasional bottle from Wadebridge Wines. It's good, but not as good as the 1997.

Deep red with a mature tone to the colour, 90% opaque. Pronounced fruity nose, slightly sour or perhaps bitter. Smooth and lovely fruit on entry, but then big, dry tannins that dominate briefly. A dry but lengthy finish. Slightly watery on the palate, this is a port that is in need of more time in the cellar to put on some weight and gravitas and will reward patience.

This is differentiated from the 1994 Ervamoira by being a blend across regions within the Douro, as well as across Quintas. 88/100. Drunk 21-Oct-14. Decanted 11½ hours.
