RP97 decanted 09:50. The cork was so soft that I could feel it tearing. Pushed in.

At D+0 a youthful red, hint of blue, and 60% opaque. Nose showing strong red cherries, perhaps maraschino, and some leather behind. Palate same: showing nicely.

RP97, decanted 09:50. Dark dark red, 95% opaque. Palate very thick, with heat. The slight tankiness of too-young fruit showing. For today, not a lovely Port. For owning and drinking later, this has promise.

All I noted was that it was 85%, dark ruby and SUPER. I also wrote 'velvety'. And I finished my glass.

Deep red with an opaque centre and a narrow rim. Some development of the colour, but it is limited. Reltively youthful and slightly harsh fruit on the pronounced nose. Lovely fruit driven entry with a really nice balance. Big but balanced tannins that contribute to a lovely overall structure that holds great promise. The acidity shows on the aftertaste before a very long finish. This has the potential to be a great wine. 92/100. Drunk 21-Oct-14. Decanted 11½ hours.

My wine of the night at the RP tasting.
