1963 Croft

Post by jdaw1 »

On Wednesday 29th October 2014 some obvious suspects (JDAW, DRT, MPM, THRA, IDJ, BMHR, RLC) gathered to test the Board Room in Davy’s at Plantation Place (Mincing Lane EC3R 7BD, +44 20 7621 9878, streetmap.co.uk, maps.google.co.uk, bing.com).

Recalling that we held a small vertical of Croft at The Bung Hole on Monday 16th January 2012, originally for the purpose of testing the then-new location (planning and arrangements, review of the evening as a whole), this Croft theme was repeated.

Decanted 3 hours. 30% opacity, very fine cloudiness, brown-orange. Tobacco on the nose. Lovely clean smooth entry. Wonderful sweetness balanced with gentle acidity. Fruit is there - strawberry, red berries. Very nice.

Cr63. Lovely mature port. Very smooth, heat showing strongly, with a hint of orange and strawberry behind. Lovely mature port.
