1970 Warre

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled by Peatling and Cawdron of Bury St Edmunds. Straight on decanting this was hot and disjointed. Patience allowed the port to settle down and deliver the high quality flavours that are expected from this reliable stalwart. Gentle rhubarb infused with cinammon on the nose, full of fruit and with a wonderful elegant structure from the perfect acidity and very soft tannins. A huge burst of berries on the aftertaste before a very long and multiple phase finish. Lovely port, immensely reliable. 92/100. Drunk 07-Nov-14. Decanted 2 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
