1963 Pocas

1963 Pocas Junior
Deep red colour, mature but youthful appearance; 80% opaque. Very attractive nose of spiced, sweet fruit. Lovely sweet strawberry syrup fruit on the palate, with just a touch of woodiness. Very soft tannins add a bit of intereste but slightly too sweet and a touch flabby, Not much complexity on the palate but the aftertaste and finish are terrific with several different layers and flavour profiles all playing across the tongue and cheeks. Lovely port, in a great place for current drinking. 86/100. Drunk 02-Oct-14. Decanted 24 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
