1983 Warre

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Mature red colour with some nice bricking; 80% opaque. Mature, fruity nose with a nice sage overtone. A lovely mouthfeel when first sipped, full of sweet and balanced fruit. The soft, round tannins come through on the mid-palate and give a lovely overall complexity and depth to the palate of this port. Great fruitiness on the aftertaste and a long, delicious finish of sweet blackcurrant and spicy chocolate. Another bottle of a great reliable port. 90/100. Drunk 28-Oct-14. Decanted 24 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
