1963 Constantino

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Mature red appearance, 60% opaque. Sweet and dusty nose, lovely and lingering - great poise. Sweet fruit on entry and running throughout the palate. Sweet cherry and raisins, very rich and ripe - but with a surprising level of dry tannins and a burst of heat when aerating. Hot aftertaste with a quick flash of a fierce pepperiness then a dry and slightly bitter core growing into a delicious fruitiness and a good length. Very enjoyable. 91/100. Drunk 26-Sep-14. Decanted 29 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Cn63. Red, 70% opaque. Palate soft, with heat. Big early palate then thin mid palate. Very cherry — Tizer. Not heavy or full, but delicious mature VP.
