Sadly the cork was not branded and the only moulding on the wax capsule was "Port 1920" across centre and around the damaged edge "…LOCK…ITH…ON & LIVERPOOL". Deep orange/brown with a reddish core, 30% opaque. A touch oxidised on the nose with hints of rosemary and hints of dusty roses. Slight burnt sugar on entry which grows and becomes a bigger mouthful of burnt sugar, mixing bitterness with sweetness. Aeration brings out the background hints of rosemary. Hot and dry on the aftertaste before a lingering finish of burnt sugar and grapefruit zest. Past its prime. 84/100. Drunk 26-Sep-14. Decanted 2 hours.

?20. Cloudy orange-brown. Nose of faint orange marmalade, and sweetness. Palate sweet; high-toned; lots of heat; and again orange marmalade.
