1985 Fonseca

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red colour, opaque and solid. An intense nose that is tight and closed. On the palate this delivers warm, sweet fruit that has a lovely density. Strong tannins, but the sweet fruit dominates. The aftertaste is warm with a touch of greeness to the tannins before the dry fruit finish. Still so dense and tight, this is great youthful port. 94/100. Drunk 25-Sep-14. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
