2011 Quinta do Tedo

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

44,200 bottles produced. Intense red colour, opaque. Very muted nose showing a little roasted meat, juniper and some cheese. Silky on the palate, enormous levels of lovely fresh fruit; ripe tannins grip firmly but never dominate the fruit. Lovely fruit-led palate with delightful gentle aromatics. Dry and attractive tannins dominate the aftertaste but quickly yield to a long finish of fruit and milk chocolate. Delicious and very promising. 93/100. Drunk 25-Sep-14. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Td11 Fruit, some red, richer than that in the TdS11. Much more heat. Also strong acidity.
