1997 Quinta do Tedo

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red with a bricking rim. Cherry, marzipan and mint on the nose. Quite pronounced. Fruity, structured entry with high levels of acidity that sear their way through the mature and slightly stewed fruit. Powerful tannins that fade slowly to reveal the fruit in its full glory. Wonderful cherry finish; great length and delicious aniseed finish. Very enjoyable. 88/100. Drunk 24-Sep-14. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
