2012 Quinta do Noval

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

950 cases. Deep red, magenta core; opaque. Floral nose, full of blueberries and cornflowers. Silky texture, then a wave of powerful and slightly green tannins arrive, wrapped in beautiful ripe fruit. This has good development on the palate and delivers a number of layers of flavour. Big - no, huge - finish full of dry tannins and fruit. A big wine that is completely delicious. 93-95/100. Drunk 24-Sep-14. Decanted 4 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
