1989 Quinta do Vesuvio

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Mature brick-red, 60% opaque. A lovely nose, full of gentle sweet brambles, elegant and attractive. Balanced entry, mature fruit dominates the palate. The baked taste from earlier bottles has integrated well and delivers a lovely fruit driven elegance with an attractive figginess and some soft tannins still present. Sweet and fruity finish. Lovely long length, really lovely. 89/100. Drunk 23-Sep-14. Decanted 4 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
