1996 Grahams LBV (bottled 02)
This was one of my longer term tests concerning filtered LBVs and yes, I must admit that this wine has lost some of its flowery aromas that it used to have earlier.
The color is very deep red with nice reflexes. The nose is quite unchanged compared to 6 years ago. Spicy fruits all over, very promising. The palate is alcoholic and a bit closed. The fruitness you expect from the nose is not nearly on the palate. A bit dissapointing.
It tells me that it is true that these filtered LBVs definitely want to be drunk young.
