1995 Sao Pedro das Aguias LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bought from Castas e Pratos, Regua. Bottled 2000. Brick red, 40% opaque. Very subdued on the nose, a little sour rhubarb and sour cherry. Sweet fruit on the palate, restrained and nicely balanced by a firm rhubarb acidity. A quick burn on the aftertaste, then a lovely stewed rhubarb and brown sugar length with lots of aniseed balls. Very pleasant. 85/100. Drunk 21-Sep-14. Drunk 1 hour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
