Mz34. Red-brown, 30% opaque. Varnish on nose. Early in the glass, soft, light, grape-pip bitterness. Good, but not great. A late note recorded “soft and lovely”.

Light chestnut, with light pink through it. A nose of light cherries - really an absolutely excellent nose, big but delicate and fragrant. This was orangey in the mouth, some currants, some heat in the finish. The finish was short and hot but still, this was excellent as far as I was concerned.

30% opacity, warm burnt orange. Sweet nose, oranges. Lovely sweetness in the mouth, tongue tingling. Heat builds gently all along. Smooth, and fine length. Very fine stuff.

Lovely glowing reddish-orange, 20%. Less pronounced on the nose than the 1922 or 1927 with some harshness and dirty tones. The palate presence is good with a nice texture, if slightly thin. Big mid-palate, full of flavours and with a much bigger profile than would have been expected from the entry. Slightly dry, but floral and elegant with a peppery essence. A burst of acidity on the aftertaste; a huge finish, long and full. 94/100.
