The 1985 Taylor done more justice to my Man-Flu than I did to the 1985 Taylor.

Thank you, Bruce.

Can someone interpret?

Bruce is clearly a reference to Bruce Bogtrotter from Matilda, apart from this I assume he was delirious.

I'm still in the dark. And Derek should be.

I gave him a chance to correct his schoolyard grammar. Now I'm off to Apostrophe Crimes.

I am still under the fog of the worst bout of man flu that I have ever had and you punish me like this. Isn't a man allowed a tired and emotional moment without this sort of public flogging and recrimination? What is the world coming to

I have flu too now. I've even taken a day off work. I think you must have given this filthy infection to me. I may need to drink some Bushmill triple-barrel 16-yr single malt. You gave that to me too…

It just got worse. Saint Rachel has arrived home to save me but she has decreed that I am not allowed any Whisk(e)y.

WHAT GOOD IS UNFERMENTED MEDICINE?

Apologies if I have passed it on. As purchaser of the Bushmills I hereby declare that you are allowed to drink it. I think Rachel is a wonderful woman, one of the best I have met, but on this score she is very wrong.

Drink up dear boy - all will be well in about seven days from now.

And get back to work.

Hmm. She says I can drink if I get up and get it myself. I can no more do that than fly.

Man up! No time for all this mamby pamby nonsense.

Your lack of commitment in the face of adversity has caused me to change my vote. Rachel is correct. You don't deserve the Bushmills.

Exactly, brace up and walk it off is my advice.

Sorry Daniel, I was unhelpful. Perhaps a wee nip brought to your sickbed might bring a little relief to your last hours. Get well soon.

Are you still alive?

Just. I've got a chest infection as well. My chest is rattling and aching, it feels like I've an iron lung. That's why I was supposed to get my flu jab. We asthmatics aren't encouraged to get flu.
But I did have a hot whiskey earlier.

I hope you're not pouring boiling water in that Bushmills 16 yr old?

I have other whiskeys for that use. Fear not.
Glad you have your priorities right though!

With the gushing sympathy coming from our friend in the Marshes I didn't want to over do it.

Presumably you are back at work now?

Back at work? Are you joking? I can barely stand up!
