The cork revealed the letters 'R ELL V'. This was from the cellar of Berry Bros. before they became Berry Bros. & Rudd.
Woody nose, a soft, medium-bodied entry, long mid-palate of soft caramel, some light wood, opening out in the finish, becoming more woody. Really quite good.

Bottled by Berry Brothers, shipper identified from the branding on the cork. Deep red centre, pale rose rim—about 30% opaque. Sweet caramel on the attractive nose. Full flavoured on the palate, soft and silky in texture. A touch of dirt in the palate but overall the flavours have lovely complexity to them. A great palate, delivering very fine, full and rich flavours. Sweet and fruity on the long finish—a great wine with a wonderful elegance. 91/100.
