NV Fonseca Crusted 2006

Post by AW77 »

D+0h: not much deposit in the bottle nor in the tea filter I always use, smells very strongly of currant D+11h: dark as ink, smells of eucalyptus, currant and pepper, very smooth in the mouth, for a Fonseca rather half dry and elegant (not the massive fatness that I personally associate with Fonseca [and which is also nice it it's way]), medium body, in the aftertaste there is a little bit of currant and a fine accidity, in the end there is a little bit of liquorice that lingers on the tongue, a really good Crusted, still quite young (hence the long decant), but with good prospects for the future.
Drunk December 2014.
