1999 Quinta do Noval Silval

Post by AW77 »

D+0h: quite a lot of deposit in the tea filter I always use, smells of sweet cherry, D+10h: quite dark (dark as ink, at the rim a little bit purple red), smells of eucalyptus and of strawberry/raspberry, quite a full body, not too sweet nor really "half-dry", in the mouth strawberry/raspberry, the mouthfeel was quite jammy, strawberry in the aftertaste, strawberry also lingers on the tongue in the end, good length (30 sec), good port, but somehow quite dull or closed at the moment, last year's bottle was much better:

Perhaps I decanted it for too long?

Since they buy in grapes from outside the estate for this port, I think this is just "Noval Silval" (without the "quinta do")
