2000 Dow

I daresay opening a port of this age would leave me open to accusations of infanticide, but hey, it showed up pretty well regardless to my relatively inexperienced palate.
Tasted: 8 hours after decant, 32 hours after decant.
Deep purple, purple rim, almost entirely opaque. Nose slightly muted, but dark fruit and violets dominant, the latter becoming more prevalent on second tasting session. As is probably typical for most ports of this age, entry was slightly muted, dry-ish, fruits became much more prominent along with a wave - if not quite a tsunami - of heat and tannins which became less prominent 32 hours in. Balanced, with a sweet, blueberry-dominated finish.
Would try again, but probably not for at least 5-10 years.
