Light rose red, with just a hint of bricking; 50% opaque. The delicious smell of mature port, full of sweet and dusty cherries. Sweet, balanced and effusive entry. Restrained at first, and then bored by acting shy so out come all the attributes. Balanced, subtle, spiced by tobacco but always wrapped in those wonderful cherries. A bit lively on the aftertaste, with a real whisky kick, but then a long finish of red licorice and the remnants of a wood fire the morning after. Really rather good port - for drinking and not for tasting. 93/100. 17-Nov-14. Decanted 2 hours.
