By the glass, from a freshly opened bottle and drunk to accompany steak frites.
Deep red colour, no purple lustre but not yet showing any signs of bricking. Medium width transparent rim, otherwise opaque. Quite harsh on the nose, full of sour fresh blackcurrants and crushed sage leaves. Soft and smooth texture in the mouth. A nice elegance to the wine at first, but then the power comes through. Huge amounts of pepper wrapped around a fragrant and perfumed fruit. The powerful cracked black pepper dominates the aftertaste and early finish, but gives way to more of a black coffee and dark cherry finish of tremendous length. Great accompaniment to the steak! 89/100. Drunk 8/1/15
