NV Graham Crusted 1998

Drank over one sitting, 26 hours after decant
Fairly dark purple, with slight reddish tint on edge. Fruit on the nose, and a detectable - but not overpowering or revoltingly unpleasant - note of balsamic; touch of VA, perhaps? Lot of fruit on the palate, blackberry became more prominent as it progressed, hint of spice. Finish begins sweet, but touch of heat soon follows, and a wave of tannins makes a surprisingly late appearance. Decent enough, but the balsamic note makes me think the bottle is slightly flawed.
83, maybe 84.
