T70 (MPM), decanted 22:30 the previous day. Dark red, 60% opaque. Mint, actually spearmint. Heat. Slight grit. Lots of red fruit, and a good size.

Decanted 20 hours. 30% opacity brown-red. Nose sweet, toffee. Lovely smooth velvet entry, not much by way of tannin.

Deep red, mature and firm in colour; 80% opaque. Subdued nose, with hints of a lovely spiciness from mace - quite sharp. Soft texture, smooth and lovely then a deep rounded rose-hip sweetness that coats the tongue and generates good complexity and fragrance. The complexity is lovely, floral and beautifully balanced. Lovely concentrated flavours show through on the long and intense finish. Good port. Served blind this was guessed to be Fonseca 1970. 91/100. Drunk 20 hours.
