1977 Warre

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

From Tappit Hen. Mature brick-red, 30% opaque. A lovely nose of spicy fruit that promises a mature flavour profile with a bit of sharp alcohol protruding to give a fresh mintiness to the bouquet. Sweet fruit on the balanced entry with smooth and elegant flavours. Lighter than the Graham 1977 shown alongside but in a very different style. Generous raspberry and cranberry and wonderful mature spices. A massive aftertaste and finish with mace and all spice infused fruit. Quite a wow! of a wine. 95/100. Drunk 24-Feb-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
