2005 Krohn LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled in 2010. Deep red, a hint of bricking in the rim, opaque centre. Strong bouquet of freshly crushed nettles and sugar cane. Initially smooth and round on the palate, medium-bodied; full of fruit on the mid-palate with very pronounced acidity. Big aftertaste and finish, with the finish dominated by bitter blackcurrants and dark chocolate - a great mouthful of a finish. Good LBV. 88/100. Drunk 15-Feb-15. Decanted 5½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
