1991 Quinta de la Rosa

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red, opaque centre. Attractive nose, gentle applemint on the nose. Delicious, gentle and rounded entry. Grows to a lovely minty sweet redcurrant fruit mid-palate with soft tannins and good acidity. Chocolate and bruised plums on the aftertaste, some significant heat on the immediate aftertaste before a very, very long and beautifully balanced finish with lovely toasted tannins. Enjoyable. 85/100. Drunk 13-Feb-15. Decanted 24 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
