1980 Taylor

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Imperial College stock. Dark red and well coloured. Fruity nose but with secondary maturity, inviting. Sweet redcurrant cordial on the palate, with good focus and soft tannins. Nice texture and patience allows several phases of flavour to develop. The aftertaste is fruity and the finish shows the tannins again, roasted and toasted. Tasty port that is more elegant than normal for Taylor's ports. 90/100. Drunk 10-Mar-15. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
