NV Burmester Tawny 40YO (bottled 2015)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2015. Mid orange-brown, 40% opaque. A great nose of honey and VA. The palate comes with a lovely elegance, big and powerful but without the cloying depth or sweetness of the Kopke 30 year old tawny. Fresh acidity provides focus and balance yet the range of flavours is deep and complex. This has a wonderful elegance and an infinite finish that covers the entire mouth, lips, cheeks and tongue. Wow! 95/100. Tasted 05-Mar-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
