2010 Quinta do Crasto

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red, very dark, opaque centre. Closed on the nose showing little other than some scant blackcurrant. Nice texture, initially wonderfully fragrant on the palate before a powerful acidic core drives through. There is a lovely fragrance to the wine and fruit which promises a wonderful complexity. The fresh, grassy and attractive fruit aftertaste leads to a great black chocolate and sour cherry finish. Very tasty. 92/100. Tasted 05-Mar-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
