2012 Quinta da Pacheca

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Quinta da Pacheca. Deep purple and opaque. An amazing nose, smelling of a freshly mown lawn. Purple cough sweets on entry with tannins that grip the backs of the cheeks and teeth; good levels of acidity. The tannins are fierce but the fruit is generous so the balance works quite well. The fruit finish is a little dry and woody but has a good length, if slightly sticky. 90-92/100. Tasted 05-Mar-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
