2012 Quinta do Pessegueiro

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Scarlet, opaque centre and a narrow rim. Fragrant nose, lifted by a blue cheese tone that could be from unintegrated alcohol. The fruit on the nose is vague and light but there is a nice floral complexity to it. The entry is odd with hints of fruit but dominated by the unintegrated alcohol. Sweet blueberry fruit comes through later onto the palate. The tannins are fierce and the alcohol is peppery. The tannins deliver a very chewy and long lasting finish. This is a port to try again to see how the alcohol integrates, that could make such a difference to this port. 85-87/100. Tasted 05-Mar-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
