2012 Kopke Sao Luiz

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Scarlet in colour, 99% opaque at the centre. A wonderful perfumed nose, full of raspberries and roses on a summer's evening. Fruit and that flower fragrance dominates the entry. On the palate the fruit is light and elegant and wonderfully floral but the powerful dry tannins give plenty of structure. The finish is big and fruit led and has a good length. This is a lovely style of port. 91-93/100. Tasted 05-Mar-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
