From a bottle which appeared to be English bottled and was ullaged to mid-shoulder. A reddish-brown colour, about 40% opaque. Slightly unpleasant nose, smelling oxidised and slightly of warm plastic. On the palate this was thick and unctuous; very smooth and sweet with lots of dates and dried figs mixed in with the golden syrup palate. A gentle aftertaste, quite persistent but never complex. Overall this was a very enjoyable bottle of port but one which had suffered from premature aging caused by oxidation. 85/100. Drunk 13-Apr-15. Decanted 12 hours.
