1963 Dalva Golden White Colheita (bottled 2009)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2009. Burnished gold in colour, 20% opaque. Nosing of marzipan and almond paste. Sweet and thick texture, full of rish, sweet raisins and caramel but with a tremendous presence. Concentrated but with a wonderful citrus acidity and a counterpoint quince bitterness. Long finish, full of caramel and quince. Served blind this was guessed to be Dalva Golden White 1971 because of the lovely freshness. 93/100. Drunk 22-Apr-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
