Lighter red, showing some hints of maturity with soft brick-red colour in the rim and an opaque centre. Slightly cloudy. Restrained on the nose with little showing other than a tiny bit of eucalyptus. A bit of time in the glass allowed some aniseed to also come through. Smooth and sweet on entry with wonderful flavours and a delightful fragrance. Lots of sweet and ripe fruit but with a terrific tannic core. A fantastic palate with wonderful complexity. Very suprising palate with elegance rather than the traditional Taylor power. There is a touch of chilli heat on the aftertaste and quite a long burn before a lengthy finish of dry cherry stones and fragrant purple fruit. 95/100. 23-Apr-15.
