Mature brick-red, 50% brick red. A touch hollow on the nose, some harshness and a touch of oxidation. Nice texture on entry and a very pleasant flash of red berries. Then sweet and balanced, perhaps lacking a little acidity, but very flavoursome and rather delicious with so much sweet fruit. A hint of tannins on the aftertaste then a long, big and very fine finish of sweet redcurrant jelly. A lovely elegance to this port and the red fruit. 92/100. Decanted 3 hours.

Eira Velha 1945. Dark red, 40% opaque. Palate floral, and strawberry. Lightish, but lovely balance. Fruity and lovely. Very long.
