1985 Offley

1985 Offley Boa Vista
40% opacity, mid red with a slight brown-orange tinge to the rim. What a complex nose! Lively, dried fruit - prunes, and red fruit, together with faint hints of candy floss and damp tea leaves. In the mouth, mid to light weight, delicate and smooth. Sweet red fruit. A little heat in the finish, and a nice long aftertaste. Overall, a bit too much on the fine, delicate side for me. I prefer something with a more full mouthfeel. While nicely balanced now, this doesn't have much of a backbone...perhaps on a plateau or beginning a gentle fade.

Later this port filled out a little, became a bit more chewy.
