A theme suggested by Flash: the ‘Sweet-Spot Vintages’, being 1966, 1970, and 1977, in each of Dow, Graham, Taylor, and Warre. So on Wednesday 17th June 2015 we gathered at Davy’s Woolgate.

Bottled by Justerini & Brooks of 61 St James's Street, London SW1. Pale brick red colour, mature appearance and with a wide rim, 50% opaque. A lifted nose with lots of spirit and modest fruit. Sweet and rounded entry, mature flavours with plenty of fruit that has evolved well. A good level of complexity with multiple phases, all of which are beautifully balanced. A touch of harshness on the aftertaste then a fabulous coffee and sweet cherry finish. Very lovely. Guessed to be Taylor 1966. 93/100.
