A theme suggested by Flash: the ‘Sweet-Spot Vintages’, being 1966, 1970, and 1977, in each of Dow, Graham, Taylor, and Warre. So on Wednesday 17th June 2015 we gathered at Davy’s Woolgate.

Wow! Beautiful lifted nose, leaping from the glass and full of fruit. Rounded and smooth on the palate, big and lovely with lots of fruit and full of flavour and still with some tannins in the mix. Some youthful touches show on the fruit on the long and very tasty finish. This is really good port but has not yet reached its peak drinking window. Guessed to be Taylor 1970. 94/100.
