I would suggest not May.

We have the Broadbent tasting on 1 May. 23 May is Victoria's 200th tasting. 27 May is the Bank Holiday and half term week (which might be difficult for some and easy for others).

July? August? November? We have nothing in any of these months yet, but have the Messias tasting to drop in somewhere.

Late September wouldn't work for me. Early June might be cramming too much into the six weeks from 1 May to 17 June.

I'd prefer October or November - now it's up to the organiser to choose a date...

Not for me sadly, as that's my wife's birthday. A week earlier (the 8th) would work; a week later would be right next to my own birthday tasting.

I don't think we need to push it out that far. Deliberately ignoring July and August as too hot and holiday season, we don't currently have that many tastings planned this year, with nothing in June, (July, August), September or the first half of October. It would seem better to me to have a tasting even if one of us can't make it rather than to defer it further; and I'm sure come January we'll be needing a 60@60 tasting, never mind a major 70@50 horizontal, and I'm sure others :)

Ignoring July/Aug given heat and holidays, and taking into account that in late June some may be in Porto for São João, and late Sept some may be in the Douro for the harvest, so that still leaves the first halves of June, Sept and Oct clearly available this year. I appreciate DRT's efforts to find a date which suits us all, but suggest that notwithstanding previous posts, DRT as organiser now sets the date as best suits him in one of those ranges (and if I or others can't make the selected date then so be it, but at least it goes ahead for most folks).

Two minor edits: the early weeks of Sep are erroneous as shown currently - both of "PW not avail 15th" and "DRT not avail 8th" are for Oct (not Sep), which would also make w/c Sep 9 empty, though I agree that w/c 10 Jun would be a good choice if DRT available then.

That is a great pity. Unfortunately, with this many people and so few practical dates to choose from it was somewhat inevitable that one or more would have two drop out. We hope to see you at another event soon.
