The NY sucks tasting sometime soon

Post by g-man »

I'm still sitting on a leaky 1970 cockburn.

I'd hate, .... hate is a strong word ... , be remiss to drink an entire bottle myself.

seems like a proper tasting doesn t work as well in NY.

how about people let me know a free date and i'll bring this leaky bottle of 1970 cockburn (potentially with friends) to a random byob spot in manhattan.

Invite a friend to dinner? Share it with the missus? Drink half by yourself tonight, and half by yourself tomorrow?

i am in the very fortunate position, that i have, just enough, aged vintage port, to share with the missus, that i am willing to donate a free bottle of 1970 cockburns to a tasting !

A further suggestion: open a bottle of aged vintage port to share with the missus and bring along a second surprise leaky bottle of Ck70 :D

ah ha, i must admit that if i were to share a bottle of aged port with the missus, i would likely, not be inclined to hang out with fellow port lovers ;-)

Or jump on a plane and bring the bottle over to London. If you arrive on Tuesday 20th you'll be in time to join our next offline. And you could head home on Wednesday full of port.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

should be good,

hopefully the weather cools down.

And to you London folks, I am very tempted with such a favorable exchange rate and cheap flights!

Tis the end of the month.

As extra incentive, i mgiht throw in a dow 1963 to the mix ;-)

Otherwise, the weather is getting cooler and i may take JDAW's suggestion and enjoy the bottles myself!

I'm similarly inclined to start opening bottles, as we emerge from the newborn days and having finished macgyvering a wine cellar. There still aren't many overlapping opportunities for a tasting, tho. Manhattan M-Thurs, or perhaps out in NJ on a weekend. Port doesn't skype, so virtual tastings (tho fun) are less tasty...
