My younger wine was decanted last night at 9pm and then poured carefully into a half bottle at 5am, which I make to be 8 hours proper decanting time.

Older wine is still in bottle and will be decanted at an appropriate time later today using JDAW travel decanting kit.

Did we say both wines had to be post WW2? I thought we said only 1 had to be post Falklands Island Sheep Conflict of 1929...

I forgot to add that only the first two criteria were compulsory whilst the ther two were open to abuse and can be thought of simply as guidelines.

I am now at my hotel in London. Port D1, which was decanted last night, has now been poured into a large glass to allow it access to the air. My room is now filled with some rather delicious smells.

Port D2 will be decanted this afternoon using my Jdaw-travel-decanting-kit. The bottle from D1 will be used as the decanting vessel prior to both wines being returned to their original bottles which are, of course, wrappen in foil.

I used the JTDK in New Yoik when I met g-man with a fresh-off-the-shelf Graham 1994. I had to decant into a water glass but it worked beautifully.
