Similar colour to the 1982, though perhaps a touch lighter. Very floral on the nose, certainly more elegant than the 1982. On tasting, it was immediately very attractive. Well balanced and elegant, although perhaps there was an ever-so-slight amount of astringency at the end of the aftertaste.

Ex-cellars. Slightly lighter in colour than the 1982 shown alongside. Centre just transparent. A promising nose of dusty raspberries. Sweet and smooth entry; delicious sweet cherry and and raspberry fruit all over the palate. Soft and gentle tannins support a ripe acidity. Wonderful development in the mouth. Soft aftertaste, before the tannins grab the edge of the tongue and flavours linger over the palate. 89/100.

I was wondering if his por was past its prime time. Brownish, nose nothing to concentrate on, an unbalanced body and no aftertaste

1984 Graham’s Malvedos Vintage Port:
Also quite dark, but a touch lighter than the ’82. Again, that tea leaf is prominent on the nose along with some flowers. A little lighter in body than the 1982, the fruit was simpler and with straight forward strawberries and only moderate tannins. A good bottle but it will be a much earlier maturing one compared to the 1982. 90 Points
