Operation Barlborough, with Special Forces in Wokingham

Post by DRT »

In a few hours from now JDAW will arrive at Chez DRT so that we can carry out some intensive research into port vintages. We will no doubt need to have a glass or two of port to keep our minds sharp so I have taken the liberty of opening the following bottles:
  • Quinta do Crasto 2000
  • Burmester 1997
  • Fonseca Guimaraens 1986
  • Dow 1983
  • Taylor 1955
JDAW is apparently bringing emergency supplies in case we go thirsty.

At this point I do not know when we will be tasting these ports but samples of the first four plus one other that has not yet been named have been sent to our Special Forces in Wokingham who may join us via Skype later this evening or tomorrow. If anyone out there will be drinking port this evening or tomorrow evening and would like to join in on a Skypethon please PM your Skype name to me.

Tasting notes will follow.

Special Forces Wokingham now reporting for duty. And available on Skype, if required.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Are you American? You can't turn up in the last 5 minutes of the war and hope to claim to have anything to do with the outcome!!!

Just because you have a sore head, don't take it out on me! Events, dear boy, meant that I couldn't join earlier.
