Re: Wed 9th September 2015, Port Fit for a Queen (E2>V)
Irritatingly, it seems tht I will now be in Germany on September 9th so will not be able to join my fellow chums in celebrating (we hope) HMQE2 becoming our longest reigning monarch.
I shall have to ensure that I have something suitable with me to celebrate the occasion.

First post and placemats updated. Ports so far revealed are all indeed “Fit for a Queen”.

Having been prompted to 'declare' I see that a Down 1960 is already on offer. Would a Warre 1970 be suitably regal?

Another D60 would be splendid. W70 would be splendid. Your choice (I prefer the comparison in the former).
Re: Wed 9th September 2015, Port Fit for a Queen (E2>V)
You are right! E2 is not my monarch. We left Kaisers, Kings and Queens behind us a long time ago. Due to the Royal family has a strong German link I think I should make an appearance.benread wrote:Surely attendance should be restricted to those for whom E2 is their monarch?!WS1 wrote:Hi,
would like to attend too. Please let me know if still possible; would bring a Croft 60.

(It would be great to see you again Wolfgang!)
At least jdaw1 told me!
Looking forward seeing you again too!

This is very true - Wolfgang has much more chance of being related to the British royal family than any of her loyal subjects do.WS1 wrote:Due to the Royal family has a strong German link I think I should make an appearance.

Note different venue, so will be different menu between the two events.jdaw1 wrote:Might as well. Here flash_uk wrote:May as well get going on the dinner orders. The menu can be found here - please post your orders thanks.

On receipt of the file, fresh today, I did check with Davy’s: “Yes Sir, that’s our actual menu”. Fresh as it comes.PhilW wrote:"fresh"

Youngsters! I remember the Silver Jubilee, during which year was the one occasion that I beheld Her Majesty in the flesh. Inexplicably, she hasn’t since mentioned the specific occasion. Presumably she does so only in her weekly chat with the PM, in complete confidence, so we wouldn’t hear of it. Presumably.CPR 1 wrote:As a Silver Jubilee baby
Separately, and FYI:

I too have beheld Her Majesty in the flesh only once and I can say with all honesty that she smiled at me, and only at me. It was a bit of a one-on-one affair on the north side of Blackfriars Bridge. The remaining details will go with me to the grave.jdaw1 wrote:I remember the Silver Jubilee, during which year was the one occasion that I beheld Her Majesty in the flesh.
On a separate note, CMAG has asked whether or not queens drink Fonseca 1970. I said yes but please let me know if that is unacceptable.

F70 entirely regal.

Excellent. Please add to the first post as CMAG's contribution.jdaw1 wrote:F70 entirely regal.

Cookie: everybody else has declared a Port that is either currently a Symington brand, or currently a Fladgate brand. Please, if possible, choose ≤1977 non-SFE non-TFP.Cookie wrote:Could you please add me to the list...not sure on my contribution...will advise when it is known.

I was hoping to delay my declaration as I wanted to provide something a bit special but as I cannot resist the pressure any longer I will declare a Sandeman Jubilee 1977.

This non-attendee who particularly likes T63 would certainly prefer you to bring the Dalva Golden White
