I'll be interested to hear what people think of the 2006 LBV. Quevedo make some darn good LBVs in my opinion, but I've not had the chance to try this one yet.
2013 Vintage Port of the year (so far) - Quinta do Noval 1931
2012 Vintage Port of the year - 1927 Graham and 1922 Warre

i did a previous tasting with some winemakers (pinot) and some other retaileres

the 2006 LBV typically stole the show amongst the other ports. I had a 94 gould campbell and a dow 85 opened, which were served blind to the guests (Because I always have a bottle or two of port open at anytime).
They liked that it was fleshier, not as spirity, and more fruity.

i'll post my notes i took tonight.

ah,
I'm approved at the federal level to distribute wine

I am currently waiting upon my state permits and licenses since New York is a "3 tier" state. My function would be to wholesale Quevedo wines in NY to retailers and restaurants.

And if you do wish to purchase quevedo from a NY store and have it shipped out to you in your favorite state, I would be happy to point you to retailers that would carry the goods =)

Sushi, Oscar, and 3 friends joined me at a sake bar for some japanese food to start.

As we were waiting for Oscar to arrive, we arranged a mini tasting of Oscar's
Special Reserve Tawny
White port
and 2004 LBV.

The 2004 LBV was the runaway favorite.

Young, primal, loads of plums, dark fruits and tannins. The tannins are sweet and lingers into a wet tobacco like finish.
