Many thanks to all for a very enjoyable evening and great to meet Steve at his first tasting. The 75s were interesting - none stellar, though few if any had any real faults, many were quite acidic but with long aftertastes of dried fruit, with the fruit fading or faded in most cases. Taylor was my WOTN though for the group Croft prevailed as WOTN. I won't be racing to stock up on 75.

Huge thanks to Tom for a great horizontal of the 75s. Thanks too for all the bottles supplied by Tom... and also to Ian, Tony, and Wolfgang for their bottles too. I enjoyed the 75s more than the recent 85 horizontal, but I think the 85s in 10 to 15 yrs will show some great ports. A well deserved WOTN for the Croft 75 which was stunning and lived up to its source of previous Royal cellaring. Finally it was an honour and a pleasure to meet Dirk and Marco, and huge thanks to them for joining us, the colheita and claret and for sharing lots of wisdom. Another great tasting at the Boot & Flogger who did a wonderful job accommodating is in the crazy Christmas party season!

Shame on you who attended!

The only tasting notes to be seen are the one word notes that I took while decanting some of the bottles plus Simon's one line note on his favourite port. Where are the notes which will help us and others in the future to decide whether to buy 1975 vintage ports and, if so, which ones?

Perhaps the lack of notes answers that question?

Not if someone not currently a member of TPF is looking in 4 years time thinking of buying something for a loved one's 45th birthday present.

It would be better if the links created by JDAW had proper tasting notes on them rather than being a source of disappointment to potential future readers.

Apologies for the delay in posting my notes. Life was hectic before Christmas and I only got back from being away for the festive family madness yesterday. Anyway, no further excuses. I shall be posting notes later or tomorrow. I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas with some fine port, and that more of the same is planned to celebrate the New Year!
